Best Movies Like The Impossible

The Impossible is an English  Spanish disaster drama film directed by J. A. Bayona and written by Sergio G. Sánchez and was released in the year 2012. It is constructed on the basis of the experience of María Belón and her family in the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami.

It is filmed on the  British cast Naomi Watts, Ewan McGregor, and Tom Holland. The film received constructive reviews from critics for its direction and actions. Watts was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress, the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Motion Picture Play, and a Screen Actors Guild Award for Excellent  Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role.

The film was released in Spain on 11 October 2012 by Warner Brothers. The  Summit Entertainment pre-bought  The United States distribution rights.

A teaser trailer was released on 26 December 2011. Review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes gave the film more than an average rating of 81% based on 188 reviews, with a  rating of 7.3/10. The film ended up grossing over  $ 54 million at the Spanish box office and $ 180 million at the worldwide box office, against the estimated production budget of $ 45 million.

This is based upon the true story of a family sojourning at a Thai resort who gets swept up by the tsunami. The results are horrifying, as the family members are imprisoned by the water and lose their connection with each other, leaving them only with the craving that their loved ones are still alive.

Many of the characters supplemented in the film were actually the survivors of the tsunami and the real scene where the tsunami strikes the resort could only be filmed once due to the extremely high cost of shooting. The actual family who went through this terrible trauma was on set every day of the shoot to give the filmmakers and actors sharpness on to-the-point details.

The Grey

The Grey

The Grey is a  survival film written, produced, and directed by Joe Carnahan and it stars  Liam Neeson, Frank Grillo, and Dermot Mulroney. It is based on the short story by Ian MacKenzie Jeffers named Ghost Walker, who also helped in writing the screenplay with Carnahan.

It was released on January 27, 2012, in the United  States and the film received praise for its metaphysical themes, cinematography, sound effects, and acting. On the other hand, the film was criticized due to some of the dialogue and the film’s ending. It earned over  $ 81 million in the worldwide box office.

What makes “The Grey” such a unique story of survival, as it is, is that it depicts the very defeat of mortality against the very worst of nature, and shows how things play out. It is appropriate to say that nature usually wins.

Liam Neeson plays the lead role of a man who has just lost his wife due to sickness and takes a job on the oil pipeline killing the wolves that invade the camp. When a plane crashes in which the workers are traveling, the men are killed by a pack of wolves, one by one. It really creates a scene of terror at every step.

Walkabout is a  British-Australian survival film directed by Nicolas Roeg and it stars  Jenny Agutter, Luc Roeg, and David Gulpilil. It was one of the first films in the Australian New Wave cinema movement and received constructive reviews despite being a commercial disaster.

Walkabout responded very poorly at the box office in Australia. Critics disputed whether it could be considered an Australian film and whether it was a cuddle of or a  recoil to the country’s cultural and natural context. Nicolas Roeg’s excursion travelogue begins like a torment: fractured, violent, and geographically impossible.

A burning car, a dying man,  and the unwooded wilderness imprisons two young siblings in the wild, compelling them to survive on their own. Both of them begin to play each of their socially accepted roles:

the younger brother begins to chase and gather, renovating their civilized upper-class background from the ground up. The elder sister, meanwhile, becomes more resistless than previously thought, opening herself up to the luscious pleasures of the land.

Very few men have been quite as he-man  as Cornel Wilde is in this survivalist thriller  tale . He plays the role of a  travel guide who leads a group of impolite  white men into the African wilderness on an elephant pursuit .

Among those  there consisted of an asshole  who  ruined  the whole day, and on adding to that  when these modern idiots in their perfectly white hunting uniforms insult the local tribe, the group becomes aggressive and starts attacking them .

Wilde escapes the brunt of their anger  because the game respects the game, but the advantage they give him doesn’t seem all that considerable  when it’s a  fight  of an entire tribe against one man.
