First of all, I have to say this: Jattu Engineer positively surprised me as the movie did not have a single double-meaning dialogue. In contemporary Bollywood, it is indeed refreshing to see a movie that makes people laugh without resorting to vulgarity.
In this piece, I will review the latest comedy called Jattu Engineer which is produced by MSG, who has been well-known for his previous action movies. As Jattu Engineer is the first comedy made by him, I was quite curious to see what the movie is about.

Jattu Engineer Story with Messages
The film is set in an underdeveloped village where the people are extremely lazy and have turned into addicts. The dire situation in the village can be gauged by the fact that it has a school but no teacher. The main theme of the movie revolves around 2 characters namely Shakti Singh Sisodia (a headmaster) and Sghaint Singh Siddhu (a mischievous villager) who gradually transform the village while keeping people entertained with their jokes and lighthearted humour.
It was astounding to see that both characters have been played by MSG considering how different these roles are from each other. The versatility of Baba MSG and his comfort level with the genre of comedy can be seen very clearly in his performance.
It was rather hard to believe that it was the first time he was performing a comedy role considering his comedy timing was absolutely perfect.
The main thing that strikes you after you leave the cinema hall is that Jattu Engineer manages to subtly send out an important social message while making people laugh. For example, during the transformation of the village in the movie, a bio gas plant is built by the villagers. Now, I’ve been told that the filmmakers actually constructed a real bio gas plant during the shoot which is quite an interesting way of walking the talk. The film talks about the necessity of cleanliness and hygiene and sends out an important message to rural leaders and villagers across the country.
Along with that, it was very interesting for a city person like me to see a wonderful depiction of rural Haryana, its dialects and the local culture. As more and more movies get shot in foreign locations or outdoor studios, Jattu Engineer reminds us of the smell of the Indian soil and takes us back to the heart of India.
Jattu Engineer Songs
Jattu Engineer also recognizes the fact that some of the greatest Indian sporting talent lives in our villages. The song “[ryvl video_url=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXXD7gP3moQ” auto_play=”yes”]Josh Mein, Hosh Mein, Jeete Hain Desh Liye [/ryvl]” can be a wonderful anthem to motivate our village youth to take up sports and excel in them.
Speaking of songs, Baba MSG has yet again created a few numbers which are bound to hit the charts. I particularly liked this song called “[ryvl video_url=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWgIB2QIzH0″ auto_play=”yes”]Holi Ki Pichkari [/ryvl]” which seemed to have a nice upbeat party vibe to it.
Another movie released this Friday: Hindi Medium Review: ‘In India, English isn’t a language. Its a class’
Also, Jattu Engineer has been declared tax-free by the Government of Haryana as well as rajasthan because the film sends out a wonderful message of social transformation and bringing about positive change in our country.
